Group Health Insurance

Shawnee Health offers two health insurance plans so that employees can choose a plan that is best suited for their needs.  In addition to in-network plan offerings, Shawnee Health also offers a Tier 1 discount whenever employees utilize Shawnee Health services such as family medicine, behavioral health, nutrition, lab services, and same day appointments. The Tier 1 discount drops copays from $30 per visit to only $5 for most services.

Additional Benefits

  • Free Prescriptions: Employees with Shawnee Health insurance enjoy free prescription medications when filled at Shawnee Health Pharmacies. GLP-1s are exclueded from the benefit.
  • No-Cost Lab Work: Receive essential lab work at no cost when performed at Shawnee facilities. Copays, Coinsurance, or cost shares may be charged depending on insurance type. Not all labs are covered.
  • Vālenz Health: Our exclusive Vālenz Health Program offers employees access to some no-cost diagnostic imaging and outpatient procedures, including:
    • Diagnostic Imaging: MRIs and CT scans are available at no cost.
    • Outpatient Procedures: Benefit from no-cost orthopedic and general surgeries, as well as colonoscopies.
  • Courtesy Cash: Every year each Shawnee Health Employee receives a maximum of $200 in courtesy cash to use for medical or dental care from any Shawnee Health provider.
  • Husk Wellness: Employees enjoy access to discounts on gym and fitness center memberships, access to Registered Dietitians for nutritional counseling, and discounts on home equipment and tech.
  • Employee Assistance Plan (EAP): EAP provides up to three counseling services for employees and their immediate family members.

 

Paid Time Off

  • Vacation – Full time employees earn 96 hours of vacation leave per year. After 3 years of employment, employees earn 120 hours. Every year thereafter, employees earn vacation leave up to a maximum 28 days per year in accordance with their length of service.
  • Sick – Full time employees earn 48 hours, or 2 hours per pay period, sick leave per year.
  • Personal – Full time employees receive 24 hours personal leave per calendar year. New hires receive a prorated portion of the allocated personal leave based on their hire date.

Employees working 60%-99%FTE earn a portion of the listed hours. Employees working less that 59% FTE qualify for PLFAW.

Call & Incentive Compensation

Care Coordinators, Case Manager Assistants, and Adult Protective Services Case Workers and Specialists are eligible for call compensation.  Care Coordinators are eligible for incentive compensation.

 

Standard Benefits for Physicians, Dentists, and Midlevel Practitioners

  • Shawnee Health offers 280 hours for full time practitioners for each full fiscal year of employment for vacations, holidays, sick leave, continuing education or other absences from the practice. At the end of any employment year, a portion of unused Leave days may be carried forward to the next year or you may opt to take the cash value of the unused Leave days.
  • Productivity Incentives: Shawnee offers select physicians, dentists, and midlevel practitioners merit and productivity incentives based negotiated contractual terms related to net collections and/or total encounters.
  • Merit Bonus : Shawnee offers select physicians, dentists, and midlevel practitioners productivity incentives based on negotiated criteria.
  • Continuing Education (CE) Allocation: physicians, dentists, and midlevel practitioners receive an annual CE allocation.

Retirement Planning

We strive for our employees to live comfortably after employment. Shawnee Health contributes 3% of your annual salary. Shawnee Health Service maintains a 401(k) Retirement Plan for employees with 4 contribution types:

  • Salary deferral – Pre-Tax 401(k) deferrals or Roth 401(k) deferrals (after-tax).
  • Safe Harbor contribution.
  • Profit Sharing Non-Elective or Discretionary Contribution
  • Employee “rollover” contributions.

 

Educational Assistance

Shawnee Health encourages our team to pursue educational opportunities in order to achieve their career goals. To help our staff offset the cost of achieving their educational goals, our educational assistance program offers up to $10,000 per fiscal year towards completion of study, degree, certification, examination, license or similar educational pursuit which will provide a mutual benefit to the employee and SHS.

To be considered eligible, employees must have completed 1 or more years of continuous service with Shawnee Health and a minimum of 24 hours per week.  Additionally, employees who receive education assistance are required to sign a Repayment Agreement that requires them to remain employed by Shawnee Health for a specific period of time. Contractual providers aren’t eligable to recieve eductational assistance, with the exception of loan repayment. 

Student Loan Repayment Program

The burden of student debt can be overwhelming for most individuals. We are proud to offer a student loan repayment program designed to alleviate the financial burden of higher education for our staff. This allows our employees to focus on their careers and personal growth. By supporting our team’s financial wellbeing, we enable them to deliver exceptional care and remain dedicated to our mission of serving southern Illinois. Our Student Loan Repayment Program offers up to $10,000 in loan repayment that can be paid in one lump sum or split into monthly payments. To be considered eligible, employees must have completed 1 or more years of continuous service with Shawnee Health and a minimum of 30 hours per week. Additionally, employees who participate in the Student Loan Repayment Program are required to sign a Repayment Agreement that requires employees receiving assistance to remain employed by Shawnee Health for a specific period of time.
